Byron R. Wien

Byron R. Wien is the chief investment strategist for Pequot Capital. For 21 years he was Managing Director and the Chief (later Senior) Investment Strategist for the United States at Morgan Stanley. He was a Portfolio Manager for 20 years prior to joining that firm in January 1985 and became a Managing Director later that year.
Mr. Wien received his B.A. with honors from Harvard College and his M.B.A. with distinction from Harvard Business School. He is a Supervisory Director of George Soros’ Quantum Endowment Fund and a member of the Investment Committees of Lincoln Center, The Pritzker Foundation, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He is a trustee of the New York Historical Society. Mr. Wien is a Board Member of The Manhattan Institute and Phoenix House Foundation. He is a past President and Chairman of the Harvard Business School Club of Greater New York.
In 1995, Mr. Wien co-authored a book with George Soros on the legendary investor’s life and philosophy, Soros on Soros--Staying Ahead of the Curve. In 1998 he was named by First Call the most widely read analyst on Wall Street and in 2000 was ranked the No. 1 strategist by SmartMoney.com based on his market calls during the year. Mr. Wien was named to the 2004 Smart Money Power 30 list of Wall Street’s most influential investors, thinkers, enforcers, policy makers, players and market movers. He appeared in the Thinker category.
In 2006, Mr. Wien was named by New York Magazine as one of the 16 most influential people in Wall Street, along with Henry Paulson then of Goldman Sachs, Steve Schwarzman of Blackstone, and Robert Rubin of Citigroup.
The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) presented Mr. Wien with a lifetime achievement award in 2008.
Paul McCulley

Mr. McCulley is a managing director, generalist portfolio manager, and member of the investment committee in the Newport Beach office. In addition, he heads PIMCO's short-term bond desk, leads PIMCO’s cyclical economic forums and is author of the monthly research publication, Global Central Bank Focus. Prior to joining PIMCO in 1999, he was chief economist for the Americas at UBS Warburg. During 1996-98, he was named to six seats on the Institutional Investor All-America fixed-income research team. He has 25 years of investment experience and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He received his undergraduate degree from Grinnell College.

Michael Gordon is co-founder, chief operating officer and chief investment officer of Angelo, Gordon. At Angelo, Gordon, Michael manages the diverse investment ideas within each discipline to provide a steady balance of risk and reward. He oversees the Research Department and is responsible for the quality and depth of research that is the hallmark of Angelo, Gordon. Michael began his career as a research analyst for L.F. Rothschild in 1970, specializing in the oil and oil service industries. Michael served as Director of Research of L.F. Rothschild’s Arbitrage Department and became a Managing Director of the firm. Michael has a B.A. degree from Colby College and a J.D. from Boston University Law School.
John D. Diekman, PhD

John D. Diekman, Ph.D. is a founder and managing partner of 5AM Ventures, a life sciences venture capital firm. Prior to founding 5AM, Dr. Diekman was a founder and Managing Director of Bay City Capital. Previously, Dr. Diekman was Chairman and CEO of Affymetrix, Inc, where he still serves as a Director. Dr. Diekman currently serves on the board of a number of private life science companies. He is also Vice-Chairman of Singapore's Life Science Fund, Bio*One Capital. He is a Trustee of Princeton University and is also former Trustee of The California Institute of Technology and The Scripps Research Institute, where he served as Chairman. Dr. Diekman holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford University.
Robert Sinnott

Mr. Sinnott is president and chief investment officer of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP, an $8.8 billion firm which manages energy private equity partnerships, energy, shipping and rate of return hedge funds, and energy closed-end funds, as well as growth equity, real estate and mezzanine debt partnerships in Los Angeles, Houston and New York. Mr. Sinnott is also co-managing partner of Kayne's energy private equity activities which include the origination and execution of private investments in the oil and gas, oil field services and infrastructure industries. Mr. Sinnott is a director of several energy companies including Plains All American Pipeline, L.P., a large publicly traded MLP.
Prior to joining Kayne Anderson in 1992, Mr. Sinnott was a senior securities officer of Citibank’s Investment Banking Division from 1986 to 1992, concentrating in energy, high-yield corporate buyouts, and restructuring opportunities in Houston, Texas and Los Angeles, California. From 1981 to 1986, he served as director of corporate finance for United Energy Resources in Houston. Mr. Sinnott began his career in the financial industry in 1976 as a vice president and debt analyst for Bank of America, also in Houston.
Mr. Sinnott earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia in 1971 and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Harvard Business School in 1976, after serving three years aboard the U.S.S. Forrestal as a lieutenant j.g.
