Christian Busken, Senior Vice President, Director of Real Assets, says: The move could be challenging given the macroeconomic headwinds real estate is facing right now.
“It’s not clear to me why getting into venture capital is compelling in this environment when there are lots of issues that need to be worked out in real estate,” he said. “Would they be better served by just allocating some capital to an established prop tech VC, rather than building their own VC business internally?”
